Banksy by Brian Green

Who? Where? Britain's most wanted Graffiti Artist . . . Banksy. He has been
suppling Art on the streets for atleast 10 years or more. No one knows who
he actually is. But they know his work. The legend known as Banksy has
opened the worlds eye to graffiti artist all around.

Most of Banksy's art can be seen across the globe, but East London and
Bristol are some of his more popular tag areas. Banksy's art usually
contains rats, police officers, popular government issues, and everyday
issues of everyday life. Banksy doesn't only work on walls anymore. He has
recently started working with canvas and recreating popular paintings done
by other famous artist. He has even had a gallery show or two in the recent
years.

Banksy has only release a few audio interviews to the public. He says he
started graffiting at the age of 13 or 14. After that he started stenciling
cause he was very slow at free hand. He also mentions if you are going to
deface or destroy someones property you should try and show some dedication.
To just throw something up is just rude. So with stencils he could toss up a
really detailed painting in 30 seconds or less and be on his way. He goes on
to tell why he uses police officers and some of the other people he uses in
his art work for symbols of liars and the fake people out there. He also
says he likes rats because they can infest everything from sewers to
palaces.

Your paper effectively piqued my interest in Banksy. His art is amazing, and I think it is so popular because of the issues it deals with. He seems like he doesn't take himself too seriously, and the work he does expresses his tongue-in-cheek attitude toward our troubling times.

I would have liked to hear more information about Banksy and his work. And some pictures of the different pieces of graffiti would have been nice to see.

This paper was very interesting. Honestly, I have never heard of Banksy, but after reading this paper, I already like him. He seems like a down-to-earth person who has no worries. I especially like the part when he says if you deface someone's property, do it right, instead of just throwing stuff around. It's like he saying leave your mark to let them know that you were there.

Sorry for any confusion on this paper to the viewer. It seems that parts of my paper are cut off in my browser.

So in case anyone else has a problem.

BTW just for those interested in why i didn't have pictures. I had a hard time choosing what i wanted you guys to see. So if you guys want to get some more understanding of his art... I highly suggest going to his personal website at the following address:

i feel like you could have done a lot more with this paper. it seems half hearted compared to how passionate you felt about banksy when you talked about him. i wish you put as much time into writing your own paper as you do into critiquing others.
